Behavior Plan

Mrs. Schmeckpeper’s Behavior Plan

We raise our hands to speak.
We sit quietly in our seats.
We use voices quiet and sweet.
We keep our places tidy and neat.
We use our manners every day.
We follow school rules in every way.
We are helpful, friendly and fair.
We take turns and willingly share.

I believe in positive reinforcement! Reinforcing positive behavior builds the foundation for making appropriate behavior choices. Anytime a child is recognized for demonstrating exceptionally good behavior, he/she will be allowed to hop up the behavior chart. I also feel that it is very important for all children to learn that their behavior is followed by consequences. Inappropriate behavior results in the loss of opportunities to participate. Here is a breakdown of our behavior plan:

Outstanding
All students begin the day on Ready to Learn.
If a student is caught making good choices they move their clip up the chart.
    Great Job
If a student is caught making incorrect choices (breaking rules, being hurtful, etc.) they move their clip down the chart.
Good Day

Students that move their clip to Think About It will have five minutes in our Think Chair.
Ready to Learn
Students that move their clip to Teachers Choice will lose five minutes of Free Center time or Recess.
Think About It
Students that move their clip to Parent Contact will have their parents contacted and/or have a visit with Mr.Kauk.
Teacher’s Choice

Students can move back up the chart if they make positive changes in class.
Parent Contact

Students that finish their day on Outstanding will get to choose a treasure from our Treasure Box.

All of the students will mark their Behavior Plan calendar inside their B.E.E. folder daily. If a students moves to Think About It or Teacher’s Choice I will communicate why using one of these behavior codes:

1. I hurt a friend on the inside.
7. I was not doing my work.
2. I hurt a friend on the outside.
8. I misbehaved at lunch.
3. I wasn’t following directions.
9. I misbehaved at specials.
4. I was talking out of turn.
10. I misbehaved in the hallway.
5. I was disrespectful.
11. I misbehaved in the bathroom
6. I did not have self control.
12. I did not participate.
